Encountering Racial Injustice | Christine Jeske

UpWords podcast May 29, 2023

We welcome back our first three-time guest, Christine Jeske. She’s here this time to talk with our producer Jesse Koopman about her recent anthropological study on racism in the church.

Christine Jeske is an associate professor at Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. Before her work in academia, she spent a decade in microfinance, refugee resettlement, community development, and teaching. She earned all of her degrees, including her Ph.D. in cultural anthropology, from UW-Madison.

She’s the author of three books, including “The laziness myth”, which we talked to her about on an episode in February of 2021 that we recommend you check out if you didn’t catch it when it aired.
