Prayer declares and laments, it prophesies and yearns. It is both an offering and a tenacious assertion of hope against uncertainty, despair, and unbelief. Prayer is honest conversation with God—an act of listening to and speaking what is on our hearts; a practice of discerning the still, small voice of God as we offer ourselves in our best bid for transparency.

The last year of our lives we have lived mostly unseen with our many expressions veiled from one another. Now we are entering a season of heightened anticipation and hope; day is lengthening and we are slowly emerging from our long isolation. Yet we still grapple with lingering and visceral emotions—grief, exhaustion, loneliness, and fear. These are linked to our dearest longings—our prayers for healing, hope, and connection—with God and one another.

Seeking to nurture our souls and breathe life into our spirits, from April 6 through May 6 Upper House will become a place for you to pray—on your feet or in a chair, eyes and mind open to receive offerings of art outpoured by local artists. Our guided prayer walk is designed for you—as a meditative gift—to evoke and capture honest prayers of this moment.

Our prayers for UNVEILED

May we see God and one another afresh.

May we experience God’s presence through our unveiled prayers.

May our individual prayers join and become a corporate offering.

May the prayers of the people renew and strengthen our hope.

Wednesday, April 7, 14, 21, 28, and May 5, from 5:00-6:30 pm or 6:30-8:00 pm, as well as Thursday, April 15 and 29 from 5:00-6:30 pm, 6:30-8:00 pm, or 8:00-9:30 pm are available. Register your small group for an exclusive reservation here.

How long should I set aside to pray?

If you plan to attend individually, we recommend you set aside one hour to pray through the entire guided experience. However, if you’re someone who enjoys lingering in prayer, you could easily spend multiple hours praying. Good news: you can come back more than once throughout the month!

The 90-minute group timeslots (mentioned above) are designed to allow for individual prayer as well as optional group debrief, prayer, or discussion, if desired

Can I come multiple times?

Yes—we hope you do!
