Singer-Songwriter Concert

NOTE:  Due to forecasts of extreme heat, potential rain, and air quality concerns, we are moving the concert (originally scheduled at Dottie’s Ranch) to Upper House. The show’s start time is moving to 7:00 PM to allow our guests more time to park downtown. Doors will open at 6:45 PM and the show will promptly start at 7:00 PM.

Enjoy an evening with two of your favorite local singer-songwriters, Travis Agnew and Betsy Ezell. In front of an intimate audience, they will perform songs and tell stories about life in the music industry, the challenge of writing lyrics, the pleasure of playing with other musicians, and the ups and downs of their careers.

Musicians

Betsy Ezell

Betsy Ezell is a local jazz singer and composer, who began composing music in 2014 and studied jazz under Gabriel Espinosa at Central College. She has performed at Cafe CODA, Crescendo, for the DreamBank Summer Music Series, the Memorial Union Terrace’s Behind the Beat jazz series, Strollin’ Middleton, Jazz at Five, and as a guest artist at Central College; she also leads worship at churches and conferences. In 2019 she was nominated in Madison Magazine’s Best of Madison poll in the “Local Band or Singer — Jazz” category.

Travis Agnew

Madison native Travis Agnew has traveled the globe and throughout the United States, gathering stories for lyrics under the Florida sun and in the shade of the Colorado mountains. His music is as wide-ranging as his travels, encompassing alt. country, folk, rock, indie, blues, and reggae. Travis writes gritty songs embued with passion and energy—capturing the human experience in all its brokenness, love, and opportunities for forgiveness.
