How does faith inform the work of our civic, academic, and marketplace leaders? What faith-inspired lessons have our key leaders learned throughout their lives and how do they play out in the everyday demands of public engagement? Join us for our continuing Upper House series entitled, Faith in the Heart of the City.

Light lunch snacks and beverages will be provided.

Andrew Sewell is in his eighteenth season as Music Director of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, performing to an annual audience of 200,000 statewide, including the popular Concerts on the Square series. During his tenure, Maestro Sewell has raised the orchestra to new artistic heights, expanded the repertoire, and provided innovative and adventuresome programming to all their concert programs. Maestro Sewell was also recently appointed music director of the San Luis Obispo Symphony on California’s central coast. He serves in this position concurrently with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and remains a resident of Madison, while also being in international demand as a conductor. A native of New Zealand, Maestro Sewell received his music training on the violin, piano and cornet, and began conducting at age 16. Sewell holds a Master of Music degree with Honors in Conducting from the University of Michigan. He and his wife, Mary have three children and live in Madison.
