Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom… — Colossians 3:16, NIV

Made in the image of God, we each have minds wired for inquiry and creativity. We are insatiably curious about the world, its cultural expressions, human institutions, channels of influence, and meaning-making. We delve into ideas about who we are and how we act, individually and collectively. We explore the creative arts. We study history and its lessons. We reflect on literature, linguistics, and philosophy, and consider emerging scholarship—from a variety of angles—to gain knowledge and more nuanced understanding and to pursue appropriate responses. At Upper House, we freely examine a range of ideas in response to God’s invitation to grow in wisdom, delight in wonder, and challenge the status quo. In the process, new revelations about God’s nature emerge and call us deeper.
